| In my opinion, SVG spec is very poorly organized and explained. Specially, if you need to develop an SVG player, it is very difficult and time consuming to understand the spec. ruben |

Yes, several people have said this. The spec is huge and very robust. Some people say that it tries to do too much and that it should instead do a few things better. Developing a viewer is a mega-major undertaking. There are some great viewers already available. As for "Conditional Processing", we do discuss a bit in the book : http://learnsvg.com/html/bitmap/chapter05/page05-1.htm However we did not tackle the optional "requiredExtension" attribute. I read it that this attribute allows viewers/users to check if an extension is available, and if so then display this bit of SVG code, otherwise, display nothing or another block of SVG code.
